All about us

Class three at Wilberlee is a mixture of pupils from Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6. We are an amazing team who really enjoy leanring together. We love our individual characteristics and personalities and everyone makes our class team and class a brilliant place to be. Working with three different year groups gives us many opportunities to recap and revisit past learning but also pushes and challenges us forward as we are exposed to rish new language and opportunties as we progress through the year groups.

Our teachers are Miss Crowther and Mr Purcell. Miss Crowther is also the Assistant Headteacher at the school. She teaches us every monring and on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoon. Mr Purcell teaches us on a Thursday afternoon and our higher level teaching assistnat Mrs Clarke teaches us on a Tuesday afternoon. Please check out our class timetable here to find out more about when we are learning about what and who is working within our classroom.

Our teaching assistants are Mrs Lomas, Mrs Bradley and Miss Hofman also work in our classroom every day and Mr Kenworthy teaches our PE sessions on a Monday afternoon.

If you would like anymore information about our class please do not hesistate in getting in touch via the school office. office.wilberlee@kirkleeseducation.uk

This term Class Three are studying the Benin Kingdom. We are currently reading Kingdom of Benin short stories Ehi and Uki and we are really enjoying learning about what civalisation was like during the peak of the Benin Era. As well as this we have been using our geography skills to look at the World and locate Benin on a map of Africa. We have many exciting textile technology activites planned as well as topic based learning that is really going to enhance our learning and knowledge surrouding this exciting topic!

This HALF TERM!

Please take a look at our Class 3 currciulum newsletter here to find out more about what we will be learning this half term.

WHAT CAN WE DO AT HOME?

Learning is important across a child's life and therefore we ask that children complete little jobs and tasks at home. Each week children will be given a learning homework task that reflects the learning that we have completed at school; this may be maths/ literacy or topic related. There is an expectation that this is completed. This will be completed by logging into the VLE.

Have a look at the 'Welcome to Class Three Booklet' below which will give you a range of information all about life in Class 3.

We must ensure that reading takes place, we learn our times tables, we learn our KIRFs and learn any spellings that we may be given. .

Reading lots is always important and it is important that we write what we have read in our planners. Remember that we have the top 50 books to read before you leave Class Three! The document is in your planners but can also be found below.

We must know our KIRF target and apply this. The KIRF's can be found under the pupil's page at the top.
